The old life is gone, a new life has begun.
2 Corinthian 5:17 ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!’
We wrote this song about the fact that in Christ we have been made new. When Christ was crucified the veil was torn which gave us the opportunity to come straight to God through His son Jesus Christ. The silence between God and man was now forever broken. All we need to do is accept Him. We get reborn at that moment. He makes us new, gives us a new life, and a new future. He conquered the grave and with that, He conquered every challenge in our lives and every plan the enemy has for us. Matthew 27:51-52 ’At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised..’
God made a way for us by sending His Son Jesus Christ to earth to die for our sins. Jesus brings us eternal life and life on earth in abundance. Jesus overcame the grave, defeating death and it’s sting, bringing us resurrection power and victory.
Before Jesus, we live as victims to circumstances and experiences, we live bound in our minds, we struggle with unforgiveness and deception and no eternal purpose. But when we meet Jesus and live with Him as our Saviour we are victorious, we overcome! We are free and strongholds no longer have their place in our lives. We are able to live a life of forgiveness because Jesus has shown us amazing forgiveness for our sins. Jesus brings us truth and purpose. This changes everything about life and the way we live our lives.
We wrote this song because as writers we have such a huge passion for souls and for helping people to know that this walk with God is a new beginning for them. We wanted to share about the victory and new life that Jesus brings. It’s such a privilege to be able to praise God for calling us into a new life with Him and really just celebrate the amazing gift He has given us – a new beginning.
Have you ever been desperate to start things over? Well, sometimes things in life can lead you to this point whether it be by circumstances or by choices one has made. Some people truly are longing for a new life, a new beginning, but that is only found in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the one who bled for us to wash our sins as white as snow.
We love this fun, strong praise song declaring what Jesus has done for everyone! He is so merciful and we give Him all the praise for this blessing like no other. We serve a God of new beginnings indeed. Not only does God give us a new life and second chance, but He gives us a better, more joyous, more peaceful, and victorious life! The same power that defeated the grave, lives in us. Romans 6:10-11 ‘The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.’
